In short: you can use the Borosil Scientific app without an account. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or location, we show no advertising, and the app contains no analytics or tracking tools. We never sell your information.
1. Who we are
This app is published by Borosil Scientific Limited ("Borosil Scientific", "we", "us"), 1101, Crescenzo, G-Block, Opposite MCA Club, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai - 400051, India. This policy explains what information the Borosil Scientific app ("the app") uses, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the app only; our websites have their own policies.
2. What the app does
The app lets you browse our product catalogue, view product details, brochures and resources, read news and events, find and download our product certificates (by typing a certificate code or scanning the code on a product), use the in-app assistant BSL BOT to find your way around, and keep content available offline.
3. Information we use

| Camera (only if you use scanning) | The camera is used only while the scanner is open, to read the code printed on a product or its label. The pictures are analysed on your device in real time; no photo or video is stored or sent - only the code that was read is used for the search. You can withdraw camera permission at any time in your device settings; you can still type codes by hand. |
| Technical data | Like any internet service, our servers receive your device's IP address and the time and type of each request. We keep these in server logs for security and troubleshooting only. |
| Device safety check | To protect you and our services, the app checks on your device whether it is running on a modified (rooted or jailbroken) device, an emulator, or with debugging or app-modification tools, and whether it is the genuine version from the official app store. If so, the app does not open. This check happens entirely on your device; its result is not sent to us. |

Stored only on your device
- Certificates you download are saved in the app's own storage on your device. They leave your device only if you choose to share them, using your device's share function.
- Offline content (catalogue pages, pictures, documents you saved for offline use) and app settings (such as light or dark appearance and whether BSL BOT is shown) are kept on your device.
- All of this is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
What we do not collect
No name, e-mail address or phone number; no location; no contacts, photos or files from your device (other than files you create in the app); no advertising identifier; no analytics, profiling or cross-app tracking.
4. Other services the app connects to
- Our websites (borosilscientific.com and borosilcertification.com) supply the product information, pictures, documents and certificates you see.
- Google Fonts: the app may download its typefaces from Google's servers, which then receive your device's IP address. See Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
- YouTube: product videos, where offered, are shown from YouTube or open in the YouTube app or your browser, under YouTube's terms and Google's privacy policy.
- Links you open (for example our website or e-mail) open in your browser or e-mail app; their own policies apply there.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information is processed on servers operated by or for Borosil Scientific Limited. We may disclose information only where required by law or to protect the security of our services.
6. Security
All communication between the app and our services is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to our systems is restricted to authorised personnel.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can stop all collection at any time by uninstalling the app.
- You can withdraw camera permission in your device settings.
- Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws you may ask us about the information we hold, and ask us to correct or delete it. To find your device's record, include the Device ID shown in the app under More › About this device.
8. Children
The app is intended for laboratory, industry and business users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version is always available in the app under More › Privacy policy, with its effective date at the top.
